Dr Torphy provides compassionate care in the clinical setting and discusses research opportunities with qualified patients. He is actively involved in headache medicine research, and he has presented these findings at numerous national and international headache conferences. He is currently an instructor of Clinical Medicine at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.
Education and Training
Dr. Torphy received a baccalaureate of arts in Biology and History from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Prior to attending medical school, he worked at the Johnson & Johnson Corporation. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Xavier University School of Medicine, with a President’s Scholarship. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, affiliated with Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago Illinois, where he served as Chief Resident. He previously practiced at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, where he was named Physician of the Year.
Certification of Additional Qualification in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation
Dr Torphy co-authored Headache Solutions at the Diamond Headache Clinic (2017).
