Andrew Beatty, PsyD
“It is my goal to help patients and their families identify and manage psychological factors that are known to increase the severity and intensity of headaches. I help patients understand and recognize the importance of stress factors, personality traits and learned behaviors that contribute to the headache condition.”
Dr. Andrew Beatty is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association. He holds academic appointments at Midwestern University/Behavioral Medicine Department and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Education and Training
Dr. Beatty graduated with a double major in psychology and sociology. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at the Isaac Ray Center/Cermak Health Services of Cook County.
Dr. Andrew Beatty specializes in health psychology and provides individual therapy, group therapy and neuropsychological assessment to patients and their families. He helps patients understand the psychological correlates of headache pain and works to empower patients who have chronic headaches by helping them develop coping mechanisms to better manage their pain and advocate for themselves.
